Biographie

Tout commence en 1996-1997 lorsque les danseurs s'entraînent dans le seul endroit qui est libre d'accès et sans contrainte : la rue. Le temps passant, ils choisissent le sol lisse de la place de l'Opéra de Lyon pour améliorer leurs gestes et leurs techniques sous l'œil curieux des passants.

Par le biais d’échanges, de rencontres et de réflexions, des connexions s’établissent entre certains danseurs et le groupe Pockemon Crew se forme spontanément en 1999. Les années passent et sont synonymes de victoires. Ils sont, aujourd’hui, le Crew le plus titré au monde dans le circuit des battles: champion du monde en 2003 et 2006, champion d'Europe en 2004 et 2012, premier au Championnat KB Bboys (Corée) en 2007, etc.

Au-delà de tout clivage générationnel, social et artistique, l'identité de Pockemon Crew est basée sur une vraie envie de partager et de transmettre leur savoir-faire et les valeurs liées au hip-hop. Chaque membre joue un rôle important dans cette dynamique, il est source d'inspiration d’une équipe riche. La recherche perpétuelle de créativité dans leurs mouvements, combinant technique et esthétique font d’eux des danseurs emblématiques de la nouvelle génération de hip-hop.

Everything begins in 1996-1997 when the dancers train in the only place which is free access and without constraint : the street. As time goes by, they choose the smooth ground of the square of the Opera of Lyon to improve their gestures and their techniques under the curious eye of passers-by.

By means of exchanges, of meetings and reflections, connections are made between certain dancers and the group Pockemon Crew forms spontaneously in 1999. Then they won their first Battle in Grenoble city.

Years pass and are synonymic of victories. They are, today, the crew the most titled in the world in the circuit of Battles :

• Champion of France (Montpelier) in July 2012, August, 2003 and May, 2008,
• World champion (Braunschweig - Germany) in October 2003,
• World champion (London - the United Kingdom) in October, 2006,
• Champion of Europe (London - the United Kingdom) in OCTOBER 2012, July,2004, and more..

The company Pockemon Crew reaches its peak in October, 2007 during their vic- tory of the KB Bboys Championships (Korea).

The company professionalizes and structures itself with the creation of the association “ Qui fait ça ? Kiffer ça ! in 2004.

Member of the company since its creation in1997, Riyad Fghani takes the role as the choreographer and artistic director in 2004.

His contact with artists such as contemporary, classic and hip-hop dancers, circus performers , mimes and actors have enabled him to develop different working methods.

Alongside his role as an artistic director of the Pockemon Company, Riyad Fghani embraces, since 2005, a new generation of breakers that are part of the company entitled Smockemon.

At the same time as this ascent in the universe of the competitions, the dancers of the company cross the doors of the National Opera of Lyon in 2003 where they are still in residence currently.

Beyond any generational, social and artistic cleavage, the identity of Pockemon crew is based on a real envy to share and to pass on their expertise and the values related to hip-hop.

Every member plays an important part within this dynamics, he is source of inspiration within a team with many riches.

The perpetual search for creativity in their movements, in combining technical and aesthetic make them iconic dancers of the new hip hop generation.
