Maud Andrieux, 32, is director and actress.

Formed at the Théâtre des Ateliers in Aix en Provence with Alain Simon, she went to Bordeaux where she entered the Conservatoire. Her choices then turn to talented and committed directors with whom she worked for seven years. On her return from a trip to Vietnam in 2003 and marked by the almost frozen atmosphere of post-war, she decided to adapt the famous autobiographical novel by Marguerite Duras: Un barrage contre le Pacifique (a dam against the Pacific) which tells the efforts of a family of settlers to survive in Indochina. She left to play in Saigon. The Compagnie du Barrage was created with the support of the city of Bordeaux in 2005. Will ensue many performances in France and abroad. Passionate about French history in Indochina and attracted by the Southeast Asia culture, she made frequent trips and immerse herself in this special atmosphere. She made theatrical adaptation of great writers and her conception of stage directing emphasizes the text in an intimate relationship with members of the audience.
